In Southern Alberta, early 2017, Sawback Technologies was brought in to take aerial imagery of a bridge, by a local engineering firm.

The bridge was scheduled to for maintenance, and the engineering firm had decided to use aerial imagery (from a drone) to establish dimensions and layout of the bridge and road.  Previously, this work had been done by surveyors, over a period of days, as well as low resolution imagery from the Internet.

Sawback Technologies was able to carry out the work, observe legally mandated setback from infrastructure, and deliver the completed deliverables (imagery, orthomosaic, and DTM), all in a fraction of the time that would have been needed by a traditional survey crew.
