In Southern Alberta, 2017, Sawback Technologies was asked by a local engineering firm to do traffic monitoring.

The area in question was located in a heavily built-up area of an urban centre, and required clearance from the city officials, private landowners, and Transport Canada.  Given that Sawback Technologies has a Standing Restricted Complex Operations Flight Certificate (SFOC), we were able to receive permission in record time from all parties.

Challenges that were encountered were privacy issues, close proximity to built-up infrastructure, variable lighting conditions, variable winds, and winter conditions.  With all these challenges, Sawback Technologies was able to successfully execute several days worth of traffic monitoring, with daily uploads of all data collected, to the end client.
